Britons are being urged to protect their belongings by taking out adequate car insurance and home insurance ahead of what weather experts predict to be the severest winter in a decade.
With increased risk to cars and homes in mind, MINT has announced that it will launch MINT Insurance on December 1st, offering discounted rates on car insurance and home insurance.
The insurance company has reduced home insurance by 15 per cent for the first year. Motorists taking out both home insurance and car insurance can save an additional ten per cent on their car insurance.
Drivers going online to purchase motor insurance from MINT will also qualify for ten per cent discount.
MINT is "delighted" to venture into the insurance market, says its managing director, Jerry Toher.
"With the predictions of a long and cold winter, driving conditions will inevitably get harder for motorists and homes will be more susceptible to emergencies such as burst pipes," he warns.
Preparation is important, Mr Toher says. He adds that the new MINT Insurance will offer its insurance policyholders "peace of mind" at discounted rates.
