A reduction in the price of travel insurance policies offered by the Post Office has been announced.
The decision to lower the price of travel insurance policies, some of which have had their premiums cut by up to 30 per cent, come as part of a drive by the Post Office to become the "number one travel insurance provider" in the country.
From this month, all yearly travel insurance policies will offer cheaper prices, with holidaymakers saving up to £50.
Travel insurance policyholders will now get the option of adding on ski and winter sports insurance to their travel insurance policy, as it will no longer form part of all annual travel insurance packages.
Those choosing worldwide travel insurance can opt to exclude the USA, Canada and Caribbean in order to qualify for a lower insurance premium.
Post Office travel insurance policies are "among the most competitive" in the travel insurance market, comments the head of travel services at the insurance provider, Hugh Stacey.
He explains that changing travel habits mean that people make more frequent trips abroad than in previous years.
The changes in travel insurance policies offered by the Post Office mean that its customers will have "even more choice and flexibility" in addition to "value for money", Mr Stacey concludes.
