Insurance customers may soon find their premium notices come with a different heading as one of the UK's largest insurance brokers prepares to change its name.
On April 30th 2007, insurance giant Allianz Cornhill is planning to rename itself Allianz Insurance in a nod to the name of its parent company Allianz SE.
At present, however, there are no plans to change the title of the company's brands Cornhill Direct and Petplan, which provide insurance services to people across the UK.
In a bid to raise awareness of its revamp, Allianz SE plans to spend €3 million (£2 million) on an international advertising campaign.
Andrew Torrance, chief executive of Allianz Insurance, commented on the renaming.
"The Allianz brand enables us to leverage the values associated with one of the major international financial services provides and there is no doubt that, in the commercial market in particular, this is a real asset," he said.
After the revamp, Allianz Insurance will continue to offer a range of financial services to its customers.
These include home insurance, car insurance, business insurance and life insurance products.
