Post Office offers car insurance discount

Tue, 27 Feb 2007

The Post Office is offering a unique car insurance discount for UK motorists, offering a £50 cashback bonus.

Specialists at the Post Office urge car insurance customers to look around for the best deal, hoping to attract drivers in search of a new policy ahead of the introduction of new car registrations in March.

The special cash back car insurance bonus is available if customers take out polices by telephone or by visiting the Post Office website. The Post Office maintains that its car insurance policy offers savings of up to £124, not including the bonus.

"We hope that more customers will take advantage of this great chance to save money when buying a new car," commented Post Office head of communications Claire Oldstein.

Experts predict that the introduction of new mobile phone laws for drivers will have strong implications on car insurance as the likelihood of offences increases. Under new laws drivers caught using a mobile behind the wheel will be subject to three penalty points on their license as well as a £60 fine.
