Bright Grey advocates life insurance

Tue, 10 Jul 2007

Life insurance specialist Bright Grey has launched a new campaign designed to raise awareness of the difficulties families face if breadwinners pass away.

According to the company, one-third of UK families currently have no life insurance, critical illness cover or income protection in place, meaning that they will be in financial peril should disaster strike.

As part of its campaign, Bright Grey will be lodging online and print advertising, with the express goal of helping advisers to ensure that clients have adequate life insurance or other protection.

Kevin Stevens, head of sales at the firm, commented: "It's clear that people really need advice to make sure they’re protecting their families adequately and they don’t find themselves in dire straits if things unexpectedly go wrong."

He added that many parents who have no cover such as life insurance policies in place often do not appreciate the "risk" at which their families will be left in the event of their death or incapacitation.

Investment group Edward Jones recently advised Britons that the rising house prices throughout the UK will leave more families needing to pay inheritance tax once the estate holder passes away.
