Business importance of vans highlighted by insurance company

Fri, 22 Jun 2007

Van insurance customers may be interested to hear that six in ten corporate owners believe light commercial vehicles are a vital component of their business plans.

According to a survey from motor insurance specialist AA Insurance, 59 per cent of UK-based commercial vehicle owners have indicated that vans are essential in keeping their firms efficient.

Meanwhile, a further 24 per cent of respondent have confessed that the company would lose significant levels of revenue if the light commercial action was temporarily ruled out of service.

This highlights the need for van insurance cover, AA Insurance's head of van insurance Rhiannon Parker has argued.

"Vans are a big part of our culture," she said.

"Drivers face significant loss of earnings if their van's out of service so it's essential to ensure they're properly covered when the worst happens."

Recently, van insurance policyholders were told they may soon be given more information about traffic congestion on the nation's motorways following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Freight Transport Association and the Highways Agency.
