Owning a green or hybrid car may have another benefit beyond increased fuel economy and reduced road taxes. Cheaper car insurance is now available for those drivers that choose a more economical hybrid vehicle .
The benefits of hybrid cars are manifold. As well as being more environmentally friendly, they offer decreased fuel consumption, lower tax bands, and now lower car insurance bands.
The news came from the managing director of motorinsurance.co.uk, Paul Cosh. Cosh reportedly commented in the motor insurance news this week that: "Most hybrid cars appear in the lower tax bands, however, as with other types of car insurance, all final quotes depend on various factors individual to the vehicle."
Another benefit for city drivers is that the congestion charge is waived for green vehicles . Buyers seeking car insurance are advised to shop around and compare quotes to find the cheapest cover, car insurance experts say.
