Activity holidays in US require adequate travel insurance

Fri, 25 Apr 2008

Families travelling to countries such as the USA are being advised to ensure that they have adequate travel insurance to cover any activities they have planned. A recent study by Raisingkids.co.uk found that activities such as ice-skating may be regarded as winter sports and therefore may not be covered by standard policies.

According to Travelex, holidaymakers travelling to America will find that their money will stretch a lot further. John Nicholas, director of money service Travelex, says countries such as the USA, South Africa, and Eastern Europe are the best possible destinations for travellers who want to see their money go further.

He explained, "The pound has also remained consistently strong against the dollar meaning that summer breaks to popular tourist destinations in the USA will also offer a good return on investment ."

The recent increase in the number of British holidaymakers travelling to long-haul destinations may be down to currency fluctuations so people are choosing to travel further to make their holiday funds go further, he added.
