Tesco Personal Finance has stated that it will be offering a discount on its child health insurance plan in January next year.
According to the insurer, any new policies that are purchased before January 8th will be eligible for a 25 per cent reduction in premiums for the first year. Tesco says that as a result of the changes, its child protection plan will now cost £7.49 per month for one child plus £6.49 for any additional children added to the policy, rather than the £9.99 and £8.99 it cost previously.
The policy will cover tests ordered by specialists, though not accident and emergency treatment. Tesco Personal Finance said: "With the Tesco Child Healthcare plan you have greater choice of when to see a specialist following a referral from your GP, potentially providing quicker access to diagnostic tests ."
Recently, a study by Prudential found that many Brits think they are healthier than they actually are.
