Motorcycle insurance specialist, Carole Nash, is urging employers to provide secure parking for mopeds and motorcycles .
The insurer is reflecting the views of the Motorcycle Industries Association (MCIA) who called upon British employers to assist in finding secure parking for moped and motorcycle users. Earlier this year, the MCIA asked local authorities to provide public secure bike parks. Carole Nash supported their request and said that it would be an environmentally friendly and economically viable project.
Carole Nashs managing director, David Newman said: "The MCIA reports moped sales are soaring and biking is generally becoming more popular, no doubt as a result of fast escalating fuel costs, ever increasing congestion and lacklustre public transport provision."
He added that it seemed ridiculous that employers and local authorities were doing little to satisfy the increased demand for secure parking while congestion and the growing personal cost of a car were of huge cost to the economy.
