Child seats should be covered in car insurance cover

Wed, 25 Jun 2008

When looking around for the best insurance for a family car, consumers should look for a deal which also includes safety features such as child seats in the cover, say Tesco Finance .

As part of Tescocompare.com's support of Child Safety Week, the supermarkets price comparison site is encouraging people to be aware of the importance of using booster seats, child seats and seat belts, explaining that these safety measures should be supported by car insurers .

A spokesperson for the site said: "Insurers who provide child seat coverage seem to have similar policies - if a car is involved in a accident, damaged by fire or theft or stolen and not recovered, the child seat will be replaced or a contribution made towards a new purchase."

Child Safety Week is taking place on June 23rd to 29th, by the Child Accident Prevention Trust, in order to highlight ways in which accidents among young people can be avoided.
