Those couples who are planning to get married abroad should make certain that their wedding insurance covers them outside Britain, says hitched.co.uk.
Francesca Moore, spokesperson for the wedding website, advised couples to notify their insurer and ensure they were fully aware that the marriage ceremony would be taking place overseas . She said that if the insurer was not informed, this could invalidate the policy and might cost the bride and groom thousands of pounds if a claim needed to be made. Ms Moore added that couples should look around to find a policy that covered all their requirements.
The Fair Investment Company (FIC) reports that Daily Mail research has found that couples find the idea of marrying abroad attractive as it can cost half as much as in Britain. The Daily Mail also urges couples to check
that the value of their wedding gifts is covered by their home insurance policy in case their home is burgled while they are away.
