Tesco gives kids one year free health insurance

Wed, 04 Jun 2008

Children of new customers are being offered free cover from Tesco Health Insurance for the first year of the policy, if they apply between May 29th and July 23rd 2008.

All families are eligible, irrespective of their set-up, be they single parents, joint parents or legal guardians . The insurer has calculated that based on two non-smoking parents, aged 35 with monthly premiums and a £100 excess, it would cost a family of four living in Edinburgh £47.04 for a core policy and £79.02 for a premium policy. It would cost the same family, living in London, £61.40 and £101.50 a month for the same policies.

Jeremy Sutton, head of Tesco Health Insurance, says, "This offer helps our customers through tougher times, giving parents the peace of mind they are getting the best cover for their family at a great price."

Tesco Dental Insurance recently claimed that customers could save money with its cover after working out the costs of various procedures with dentists from both the NHS and the private sector .
