Tesco Travel Insurance is providing free winter sports cover to skiers, which will them to go on skiing holidays over the Christmas period without having to worry about the potential costs of injury .
The offer is available to anyone buying an annual insurance policy with Tesco Travel Insurance and will cover mainstream activities like skiing and snowboarding, as well as providing cover for injuries sustained while practising more unusual sports like tobogganing and curling.
Rachel Cutler, head of Tesco Travel Insurance, said that the insurer wanted to help people get the best bargain deals on their winter holidays . She added: "You never know what might happen on holiday so it's best to be covered for the unexpected."
According to the tour operator Thomson, skiing has become increasingly popular in the UK. More than 1.2 million Brits went skiing last winter, which is an increase of three per cent on the previous year.
