Dental insurance could help those unable to find NHS dentist

Tue, 02 Jun 2009

With NHS dentists increasingly difficult to find, people are postponing going to the dentist because of increasing dental costs .

According to research from Tesco Dental Insurance, people in the South East of England are those most likely to struggle to find an NHS dentist.

The study also found that because of the cost of dental treatment, more than 40 per cent of people in Britain are putting off a visit to the dentist.

Head of Tesco Dental Insurance, Jeremy Sutton, said: "Given the current economic situation many people are worried about spending money . Receiving important dental treatment is essential to overall health as well as oral health ."

He added that premiums for Tesco Dental Insurance start from £9.95 a month and could help to manage the costs of dentist bills. Tesco Personal Finance has teamed up with AXA PPP to offer their dental insurance products and customers can get a dental insurance quote online and buy the cover there and then if required.
