The life insurance provider, Norwich Union, has put together a list of tips which could help people live longer.
According to the insurer, there are 15 simple steps that customers should take and by doing so, in theory, could extend their life expectancy by around 77 years. Some of the steps, such as not smoking and maintaining a healthy weight seem quite obvious, but others such as laughing for fifteen minutes a day and flossing regularly, appear a little more peculiar.
Darren Dicks, head of annuities at Norwich Union, said: "While we aren't really suggesting that someone adopting all of these practices will automatically add more than 70 years to their life, our research shows that broadly speaking these activities will have an effect on life expectancy."
Norwich Union is presently undergoing a rebranding exercise and will be changing its name to Aviva in the near future.
