Tesco offers free travel cover to families

Families that take out Tesco’s travel insurance policies could get free cover for up to four children .

Tesco has announced that the new offer from Tesco Personal Finance, which is aimed at families, is available to new customers only and children will get their free cover only if their families buy a travel policy with the firm. Single parents are also eligible under the scheme and they too can get free insurance for up to four children.

Head of travel insurance at the firm, Rachel Cutler, commented that the offer was a great deal for families planning to travel abroad this year. She said: "Having the right cover is vital and now the whole family can be insured for less, freeing up more cash to spend on holiday ."

The scheme comes at a time when British holidaymakers are increasingly reminded to make sure that they take out adequate travel insurance before travelling abroad .
