Discount of 45 per cent available from Tesco home insurance

Tesco home insurance is giving new customers a 45 per cent discount in their first year.

This home insurance discount applies to their Value, Standard or Finest policies and will be available until 27 May 2009. After May the discount will revert to 35 per cent, which is the current standard new customer online discount. Buy to let insurance is not included in the offer.

Value cover provides the basic essentials of home insurance and covers the major events such as fire, storm, theft and flood . Standard cover builds on the Value home insurance and gives some higher cover limits and additional items such as garden contents or contents when away from home. While Finest Home insurance builds on the Standard cover and automatically includes benefits that are optional extras on the Standard policy, such as accidental damage on buildings and contents, personal possessions cover and family legal protection .

Also, a further 5 per cent discount is available for Tesco Car Insurance customers.
