Swinton reveals homeowners fantasy dinner guest

The person most UK homeowners would like to sit down to dinner with is Michael Jackson, according to a poll by Swinton .

A survey by the high street retailer of home insurance of 1,200 online customers found that 31 per cent chose the recently deceased Thriller star as their favourite fantasy dinner guest. X Factor judge Cheryl Cole came second (19 per cent) while funny man Peter Kay came third (12 per cent). The eccentric US singer Lady Gaga came fourth (11 per cent) on the list and football legend George Best featured fifth (9 per cent).

Steve Chelton, Insurance Development Manager for Swinton said: " Dinner parties are becoming a lot more popular as people continue to entertain at home . Homeowners should be extra vigilant however when inviting people into their homes especially if alcohol is concerned. Claiming for damage to items following drunken mishaps can cause contents insurance premiums to rise steeply, result in loss of no claims bonuses and most policies will have an excess to pay."
